About Social Responsibility

The National Association of Socially Responsible Organizations (NASRO) is an over 36,000 member non-profit community organization. NASRO helps to bring together people of many different occupations and employer group organizations of all sizes, to assist with humanitarian efforts for the common good.

On major economic policy issues from access to business loans, taxes, the budget, globalization,climate change, immigration, health care, housing, energy, job training, and bankruptcy, we follow a different course from the traditional business association.

NASRO also has a fifteen year record of advocating for green and socially responsible business policies that will allow are members to move forward economically while at the same time improving the quality of life for all.

NASRO also acts as a primary resource on the great socially responsible business issues of the day and offers members an agenda and a focus that links success with the success of all members of our communities. NASRO provides members with easy access to resources that enable them to remain informed on critical benefits such as health insurance.

Some of the issues NASRO is addressing include:

Helping green businesses to continue to provide quality health insurance benefits to employees.
Implementing procurement policies that allow small businesses to better protect the environment.
Helping small businesses maintain solid workplace standards that allow them to win customers and compete against companies that don't follow such standards.
Assisting businesses to network with other socially responsible companies to build their businesses.
Advocating for housing, health insurance, education, transportation and energy policies that allow businesses and employees to both participate in a prosperous future.

NASRO is working for our members through our health insurance cooperative, which has a 15 year track record of lowering costs for employees, self employed people and small businesses. For the past fourteen years we also have a record of actively working for universal health insurance so businesses can compete on a level playing field.

NASRO is working for the well being of our members and our economy by promoting the benefits of a restored environment, a sane energy policy and socially responsible workplace standards. NASRO advocates, trains, and educates to improve the lives of our members.
